🚧 Site Under Construction - Taking Shape for Spring 2025 🚧

Hey there! I’m Oscar, a digital architect exploring the intricate intersections of systems and security. Currently, I’m working under the guidance of Prof. Jie Zhou as a research assitant focusing on programming language and system security.

Research Interests

My research spans across several fascinating domains:

  • Memory safety and secure systems architecture
  • High-performance computing optimization
  • Medical image processing and 3D reconstruction
  • Financial systems automation and security

Current Work

By the Spring of 2025, I’m working in the Systems Security Lab on developing comprehensive benchmarks for Rust’s memory unsafe features. Our research focuses on:

  • Developing comprehensive benchmark suites for memory safety evaluation
  • Building automated testing infrastructure
  • Creating specialized analysis tools for performance measurement
  • Engineering verification frameworks for safety guarantees

Additionally, I’m leading the development of financial analytics platforms that serve over 200 student organizations at Engage Payments.

Journey

My path has taken me from UC Davis’s sunny campus to the vibrant tech ecosystem of DC, with an enriching stint in medical image processing at Southeast University. Each experience has shaped my perspective on building secure, efficient systems.

Philosophy

I believe that the most elegant systems are those that make complexity feel simple and manageable. Whether I’m developing automated testing infrastructure or optimizing financial workflows, I focus on creating solutions that are:

  • Fundamentally secure
  • Highly performant
  • Accessible and maintainable
  • Theoretically sound
